I love Los Angeles, but
does Los Angeles love me? Hey, a little bit of
shameless self-promotion never hurts! I figure
that creating this page may plant the idea in someone's
head about how utterly wonderful this webpage is (at
least in my completely objective opinion).
Actually it appears someone out there may not entirely
disagree. Los Angeles Time Machines AKA Old School
LA was:
1. Selected for the
American Heritage Guide to the Best of the Web;
2. Featured in the program "Good Food"
hosted by Evan Kleiman on KCRW in Santa Monica;
3. Featured in the "Road Notes" News
Publication of the Society for Commercial Archeology;
4. Highlighted on KPCC 89.3 (Pasadena)
"Talk of the City" with John Rabe.
5. latimemachines.com was recently #3 on
the first page of Google for "Los Angeles history" and
"Los Angeles bars", while at the same time being on the
first page of Google for Los Angeles Restaurants and Los
Angeles Buildings (not bad for a "hobby" site by an old
fart who has no idea what he's doing!). For some
reason Yahoo and MSN do not share Google's enthusiasm
for the site. They must like bells and whistles!
6. Featured in the San Diego
Union-Tribune article "Steakhouse keeps spirit of old
Hollywood alive", April 19, 2008.
