How do you like my virtual museum?
Does Clifton's Cafeteria bring back memories? Questions
or Comments? Do you have any information regarding Time
Machines not listed on this site that you would like to share?
Are you a restaurant owner or restaurant employee (or relative)
from the golden era of Los Angeles Restaurants (like Musso
and Frank's) and would like to be interviewed? Can you scan
any relevant pre-1964 match books, postcards, napkins or menus
that are not copyrighted for me to post (you keep the originals
- I just need the scans)? Contact latimema2 at
latimemachines.com (recopy this email address replacing the word
"at" with @ (leave no spaces) - hopefully this will cut down on
emails selling Viagra!).
I would like to expand this site to
preserve more of the history of people who lived and worked in
Los Angeles metropolitan bars and restaurants from the 1930's,
1940's, 1950's, and 1960's. You can provide information about
yourself by email or in some cases I may be able to interview
you. I also enjoy hearing people's experiences in visiting the
places I list or updates on what's going on in these bars,
restaurants, hotels, etc. Has someplace been remodeled, or is it
closing or ? Let me know. Strangely enough, despite all the free
publicity (I get emails from places as esoteric as Andorra from
people saying they went to 10 places on my site during their
visit), I never get emails from the people that actually own
time machine restaurants. I apologize in advance, but I
can't always respond to every question or comment (but I'll sure
try!).

Great view from the rooftop restaurant
of the Westin Bonaventure. Unfortunately for photographers - the
restaurant moves!
